This is the ideal tool for spotting overstrike legend and date errors, pointing differences and other minute die variety differences. It features a variable scale of magnification from 60x - 100x and has its own battery powered adjustable light source (although it works perfectly well without batteries if a good external light source is available). It is also supplied with a stand and slide holder.

I was amazed today when I received the first one, I couldn't resist trying it out! It really is great for extreme close ups of coins and stamps.

With an inexpensive digital camera (Samsung Digimax 130) held close to the lens I was also able to photograph parts of coins at 60-100x magnification, at the same quality as looking down the lens myself. All of the letters in the words 'Close up' above where photographed from a few coins I had lying around (I couldn't find a 'U' so used a Roman style 'V'!). There are some full size images linked to from below the Microscope picture.

Overall dimensions (with lens retracted, including detachable base): 163x73x49mm. With lens retracted and without base: 147x46x25mm
